Please Note:For Outdoor Use In Conjunction With Patio Decking

TIMBER DECKING

garden decking

Timber decking has become increasingly popular as an attractive alternative to traditional patio areas.

The Coverdale range has been designed to compliment your existing decking to form an attractive and decorative finish.

Both 24mm natural looking polyhemp (pictured left) and coloured staple fibre polypropylene ropes are suitable for outdoor use.

It is important to note that, in common with many other materials, these colours will fade over time in bright sunlight.

rope colours ROPE COLOURS AVAILABLE

     a) 24mm or 30mm 3-Strand Polyhemp in ‘Natural’ colour only.

     b) 24mm or 30mm coloured 3-Strand, hand-laid staple fibre polypropylene ropes - these ropes have a soft handle and a wool-like appearance and are made on our ropewalk in traditional 3-strand construction that comes in a choice of 6 attractive colours: Slate Blue, Bright Red, Royal Blue, Green. Gold and Black.

polyhemp rope Galvanised or other ring plates can be used at each end but the rope has to be spliced in situ after the rope has been threaded through the holes in the posts.  We do not supply ring plates (available at DIY and hardware shops).  Your local Scout group, garden centre or a ship's chandler may be able to help with the splicing.

We do not supply posts suitable for decking but the following suggestions for fitting the rope to the posts may be helpful:

 1. Drill a suitably sized hole near the top of each post to take the rope (25mm or 30mm diameter).

  2. Thread the rope through the holes and tie a knot beyond each end post. If required, short lengths of wooden dowel can be inserted through the post/rope to fix the position at each post, or at the end posts.

Note:

1.  The 6mm diameter cross hole must be drilled in the post before threading the rope through.

2.  Sharpen the end of the dowel (in a pencil sharpener) before attempting to insert through the post into the rope.

Product notes:

Please remember when ordering to add 5% to any given length if a drape is required between fixtures, plus any extra rope needed for end-knots or splicing.

If ropes are to be stored please ensure that they are perfectly dry before being put away.

Colours may vary from those shown in the photographs and over time will fade in bright sunlight.
