We are a long-established family firm of rope and braid makers based in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside. We manufacture and supply a wide range of ropes, braids, cords and other related products to markets all over the world.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS - Important, please read

Price Lists

All trade price lists exclude Carriage and VAT which are charged as appropriate. Quantity discounts vary according to the product range.

All retail price lists show prices inclusive of VAT at the UK rate of 17.5% (which may be deductible for some overseas destinations). Church Bell Ropes and our Bannister (stair) Ropes and fittings are sold direct to the end-user (retail customers).

Prices

We reserve the right to alter prices at any time and to invoice at the price ruling on the date of despatch. Please check current prices before ordering.

Pro-forma Invoices

ALL NEW CUSTOMERS AND ALL NON-UK CUSTOMERS WILL BE DEALT WITH ON A PRO-FORMA BASIS.

Payment

We require payments in £ (pounds) Sterling unless an alternative method of payment has been agreed in advance. Payments to be made by either cheque, credit card or BACS. All payments will be cleared before goods are despatched. Goods for overseas always to be paid for in advance.

Currency Converter

The Currency Converter is included on the site for guidance only.

Ownership of Goods

Title in the goods will remain with W R Outhwaite & Son, Ropemakers, until such time as payment has been received in full of all monies owed to W R Outhwaite & Son, Ropemakers, at any time by the buyer.

Delivery

Non-delivery of goods to be notified in writing within 14 days of invoice date. Damage or shortages to be notified within 3 days of receipt of goods. We will acknowledge all such notifications received.

Overseas Enquiries

It is not possible to include all the necessary information about carriage, taxes, import duties, customs clearance, etc. Please enquire via e-mail, letter, fax or telephone and we will deal with these on an individual basis.  contact

Customs

Any customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country. You are advised to contact your local customs office for further information.

PRIVACY POLICY

Preservation of your privacy is important to us.

We do not collect data of a sensitive nature as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998 (UK). If any such data is inadvertently collected it will be removed from our records as soon as possible.

It is not our policy, under normal circumstances, to share any details with third parties.

USE OF E-MAIL

Communications in connection with this service may be sent by e-mail. For ease of use and compatibility communications will not be sent in an encrypted form unless you require it and provide the certification to enable us to communicate with you in that way. E-mail unless encrypted is not a fully secure means of communication. If you do not want us to use it to contact you please let us know.

All documents which can be downloaded from our site (eg price lists and order forms) are scanned for viruses before being put onto the site. We do our best to keep our anti-virus software up-to-date and scan all attachments etc. We cannot accept responsibility for damage arising from computer viruses or similar effects. It is the responsibility of the user to check for and protect against any viruses which may be undetected.

Please note that colours of rope products may differ from those shown on the website.  Please ask for samples if colour verification is required.

It is the customer's responsibility to ask for yarn colour samples (supplied free of charge) as these products are custom made to order, to the customer's specifications, and goods cannot be exchanged once they have been made.
